An Update on Monroe House
An update from Monroe House Board to our supporters, followers, and contributors; on our court date December 2, 2025, relative to the eviction and damage claims by the landlord of the property located at 1700 Monroes Street, both items were dismissed with prejudice, meaning additional claims cannot be brought under that action. While we are disappointed this was the road chosen to resolve the matter and an agreement could not be reached, it has been settled and now we look forward to the future.
Over the next month we will continue to work with legal counsel, a nonprofit consultant and other area nonprofits, as we review our options moving forward and what the future holds within our core mission of assisting people in need of attaining housing. To that end and where the need is most immediate, many of the items; security systems, beds, furniture and other miscellaneous items, will be used by Partnering Together at their anticipated new location on Church Street.
We will be announcing the time and place of our next board meeting at which time the future direction will be discussed, shortly after the first of the year. To continue our efforts of full transparency in this process, the public will be invited to attend as the board the board explores, as a 501c3, the most fruitful, and legally viable path forward for Monroe House.
Please continue to check back here on our website for further updates and more details on that board meeting, and thank you for the ongoing support, it is greatly appreciated.
